The MY1020c48V 1000W DC motor is a widely used powerhouse motor in high-performance electric mobility applications. It is essentially a 48-Volt, 1 Kilowatt DC motor engineered to propel scooters, electric motorcycles, and karts with significant torque and speed. When supplied with 48 V, it reaches roughly 3000 RPM and can even exceed that unloaded (around 3100–3300 RPM). Being a brushless motor, it relies on electronic commutation via a controller and hall sensors embedded in the motor, which results in smooth operation, quick throttle response, and no brush maintenance. At full load (1 kW output) the MY1020 draws about 21 A; however, under peak demands (like accelerating from standstill or climbing steep hills) it may pull up to ~40–50 A for short durations. It’s crucial to pair this motor with a capable DC controller that can handle these current levels and provide features like regenerative braking and reversing.

In terms of power, this motor outputs around 5 N·m of torque continuously at 1000W, and significantly higher torque at lower RPMs (during startup) due to the nature of DC motors and controller current limiting. This makes it suitable for propelling heavier vehicles or riders – for instance, an e-bike with this motor can reach speeds of 45+ km/h, and an electric go-kart can rapidly accelerate to its top speed. The MY1020vis often offered in kits with matching controllers because together they form the “drive system” or “engine” of the e-vehicle.

The motor’s build is quite robust: it weighs approximately 4.5 kg, with a sturdy steel rotor and high-grade magnets to withstand high RPM forces. It typically has a cylindrical shape with mounting flanges or brackets for securing it to a frame. The output shaft might be a short splined or keyed shaft to which a sprocket is attached (commonly an 11-tooth sprocket for T8F chain or similar). This allows integration with chain-driven drivetrains of electric scooters or bikes. The motor casing often has some heatsinking fins and may be partially enclosed to protect the windings; airflow over the motor while the vehicle is moving helps keep it cool during operation.

The product has a warranty for 1 year against manufacturing defects only.

However if the product is not used appropriately and is subject to tampering, accident, water damage, fire damage, chemical application & wires soldered or altered in any way the warranty will be void.
