The ESP8266 ESP-01 WiFi Module is a compact and low-cost Wi-Fi serial communication module based on the ESP8266EX microcontroller, designed for IoT (Internet of Things) and embedded wireless applications. It provides built-in 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity (2.4 GHz) along with a complete TCP/IP protocol stack, enabling direct internet connectivity for microcontroller-based systems.

The module is commonly used as a UART-to-WiFi bridge, allowing devices like Arduino and other microcontrollers to send and receive data over Wi-Fi using simple serial communication (AT commands). It can also be programmed as a standalone controller for basic IoT tasks such as sensor monitoring and device control. It operates at 3.3V logic level and includes a built-in PCB antenna for wireless communication.

Due to its very small size, low power consumption, and affordability, the ESP8266 ESP-01Sis widely used in smart switches, basic IoT devices, home automation projects, wireless data transmission, and cloud-connected applications. However, it has limited GPIO pins, making it more suitable for simple connectivity tasks rather than complex standalone systems
